Is Mini 4WD getting a Tamiya Championship Series (TCS) spin-off? It appears so!!

Tamiya USA has announced the exciting Mini 4WD Racing Series that uses a ruleset based on a similar series in Japan. It is scheduled to start April 25th at my local track, Dukwho Workshop in Fullerton, CA.

Additional Regional tracks are based around the US with more (possibly) on the way.

The finals, like the TCS events, will be held in Southern California at a neutral location – no home-track advantage – where the winners of the 3 classes will be crowned champions (finals date TBD).

Tamiya USA will also be giving out a TON of awards and prizes at each event – just like TCS – with everyone having a chance to take home some great Mini 4WD products! So exciting!!!

The Philippine Cup Special Mach Frame Mini 4WD is a special edition car celebrating the successful Mini 4WD Series held in that country.

This kit is based on the FM-A chassis but with a new color – silver – as well as black dish wheels, low-friction tires (with lettering) and TWO, pre-painted body sets – one in chrome/blue, one in chrome/red. A special edition sticker sheet is also included.

It looks like we have another version of Tamiya’s K4 Tasche incoming – the Vivid Special! This new kit duplicates the famous Mini 4WD truck but adds a HUGE splash of color – fluorescent pink and green! It also has a new, livery matching decal sheet and yellow wheels wrapped in bright pink tires.

Other standard features: 3.5:1 gearing, 13mm front/rear rollers and a stock motor.

At the moment, Tamiya only offers tapered rollers in 13mm, 17mm and 19mm sizes – until now. These 11mm aluminum versions fill that gap for those that like the performance of a tapered roller but in a smaller size.

These rollers work best to help divert your Mini 4WD back on track if it gets to high up on a wall.

The kit includes a pair of 11mm tapered rollers (with bearings pre-pressed in) and mounting hardware.

These rollers are compatible with all Mini 4WD cars, however some bodies may require modification to fit.
