Tamiya has opened September with a pumpkin-powered trail machine and enough colorful upgrade parts to make a pack of highlighters nervous.
Halloween Gets an EZ-Chassis Trail Machine
Tamiya revealed the Trail Mini 4WD Halloween Version, scheduled for release in Japan on October 10.
This limited model uses the beginner-friendly EZ chassis and a UTV-inspired purple body. Its clear-orange chassis, purple wheels and orange spike tires provide the proper Halloween color combination. It even includes a jack-o’-lantern driver figure that is preassembled and painted.
The EZ chassis snaps together with relatively few components and uses one AA battery. Its 50:1 gear reduction gives it walking-speed performance with enough torque to climb steep grades.
This is not a normal high-speed circuit kit. It is an easy-building trail model aimed at casual fun, seasonal displays and collectors. Because it is identified as a special-project release, anyone who wants one should watch availability rather than waiting until October 30 and hoping the tiny pumpkin patch is still fully stocked.

Tamiya Organizes the Pit Table
The newly announced Mini 4WD HG Maintenance Base returns October 31 as a limited product.
The soft 210x180mm work surface includes areas for motors, gears, screws, nuts, shafts, batteries and other easily misplaced objects. Its center accepts Tamiya’s HG Aluminum Setting Board, while engraved references provide basic checks for vehicle size and minimum tire diameter.
This is not Tamiya’s first release of the maintenance base. It originally appeared in 2019, so it should be treated as a returning tool rather than a completely new design.
Still, it solves a real problem. A dedicated work surface reduces the chance of a 2mm nut escaping into the carpet, where Mini 4WD hardware traditionally goes to begin its new life.

New Stabilizers, Rollers and EZ Tires
The Low-Friction Hi-Mount Tube Stabilizer Set is scheduled for October 31 as a limited Mini 4WD Station product.
These white POM stabilizers mount above the front rollers. If the car leans in a corner, the stabilizer can contact the lane wall and help prevent a rollover. The set includes three 8x10mm stabilizers and mounting hardware.
Tamiya is also preparing a large-diameter tire and wheel set for the EZ chassis. Its 36mm chevron-pattern tires and wider track should add stability and ground clearance to trail builds.
For conventional racers, the 13-12mm Lightweight Double Aluminum Roller Set reached Japan on August 29. Its two-stage design and 520 ball bearings make it a useful front-roller option for cars that need stable cornering without unnecessary roller weight.
