Tamiya’s Cross Spear 02 has quickly become one of my favorite Mini 4WD kits to race! Initially I ran in the Box Stock class but soon found that the lightweight VZ chassis just wasn’t able to hang with some of the other heavier cars, so it quickly became evident that a Tuned build was in this cars future.
I started the build by following of one of my other Tuned cars as a base, then slowly tweaking it to where it is now. Per the rules, it runs an Atomic-Tuned motor, hard front and rear tires and aluminum front wheels to help add a little weight. I tried to keep the original color-scheme in place with the sand-colored body and red wheels – I think it looks awesome!
By the way, this one is named Stryker because it looks like some sort of wild Desert Storm buggy-ish vehicle.
