This guide is an online version of the paperwork that comes in every Mini 4WD kit. It gives the basics - Caution When Assembling the Model, Caution When Using the Model and Caution When Using Batteries. This is something we don't ever read when building but thought someone might get some use out of it when searching the web.
So, here ya go!
CAUTION: When Assembling the Model
• Read and fully understand the instructions prior to commencing assembly. A supervising adult should also read the instructions if a child is assembling the model.
• Keep out of reach of small children. Children must not be allowed to touch tools or put any parts or packaging material in their mouths. Sensibly dispose of the leftover parts immediately.
• When assembling this kit, tools including knives are used. Extra care should be taken to prevent personal injury.
• Cement, paint and lubricants etc. must not be inhaled or ingested. Keep away from eyes and skin. If accidental exposure occurs,
immediately flush with water and seek medical attention.
• Do not use cement or paint near open flame. Use in a well ventilated room to prevent poisoning/intoxication.
• Care should be taken with the parts and motor terminals
contained in the kit, as they could have sharp points and/or edges.
• Attach left and right wheels at the same time with the chassis in correct position as shown at left.
• Do not attach wheels individually or press with too much force as shaft may pierce through wheel and cause personal injury.
CAUTION: When Using the Model
• Models operate at fast speeds. Run the model with a supervising adult.
• The model could unforeseeably leave the track. When you operate the model on a track, set the track in a safe place.
• Do not lean over the track or bring your face too close to it while the model is running.
• Never run the model on roads or near puddles.
• Never run the model in crowded areas or toward people to prevent property damage and/or personal injury.
• Take care when stopping the model to prevent accidents.
• If wheel rotation is hindered by force while the switch is turned on, motor and batteries may overheat and cause burns or damage the model. Immediately turn off the switch in the following cases:
*When the model runs into a wall and stops.
*When the wheels do not rotate with the switch on or abnormal noises are heard.
*When any part is damaged or deformed.
*When hair, clothes, lint or debris get caught in axles.
• Do not turn on the model with wheel rotation stopped by force.
• When starting a race, hold the model in the air and gently drop it onto the track.
• Keep hands away from rotation wheels, gears and shafts.
• Turn off the switch and remove batteries from the model after use.
CAUTION: When Using Batteries
• Read and fully understand instructions included with the model and batteries prior to operation.
• Do not mix batteries of different types.
• Do not mix new/fully charged batteries with depleted ones.
• Note polarity when installing batteries in the model.
• Do not dismantle, heat, incinerate or short circuit a battery as it will lead to overheating, leakage or explosions.
• Do not use batteries with damaged labels.
Mini 4WD cars which participate in Tamiya official races. Do not use for any other purpose. Do not use with Wild Mini 4WD, Mini 4WD (with an Item number starting with 19), R/C Mini 4WD, Mini F, Dangun Racer, Railway Fun, Educational Construction or Robocraft Series products.
• A supervising adult should read the instructions included with Neo Champ batteries and ensure their proper usage when a child under 14 years of age is using the batteries.
• Do not mix charged and partially discharged batteries.
• Do not use the battery if the outer label is damaged.
• Depending on the model, battery installation may be difficult or outer label may be easily damaged. Check the compatibility with a model at Tamiya's homepage - www.Tamiya.com prior to use.
